1. What type of fixtures does RNS build?

RNS provides numerous types of fixtures to the electronics industry, including gasketed, backer gate, and ZSK (clamshell). While our reputation has been built on complex ICT fixtures, we also build functional test fixtures and provide testing services.

2. With which platforms can RNS interface?

RNS designs its fixtures to interface with the major testers, Agilent and Teradyne (Genrad and Z-Spectrum). We continually evaluate the design requirements of new test systems, and will support any the industry requires.
 

3. Does RNS provide a warranty for its fixtures?

RNS International unconditionally guarantees all of our fixtures for the life of the product.
All RNS-made components carry the lifetime guarantee. All components manufactured by others carry that individual manufacturer's warranty, for example the actuation counter.
One exception to this warranty policy is the test probes, which are commonly treated as commodity items. RNS stands firmly behind its product and, when necessary, will dispatch troubleshooting personnel to your site to address critical issues.
In the event that the fixture has been modified by the end user in any way, the warranty is void. Please contact us immediately if there is an issue so that we may attend to the matter from the very beginning.
 

4. Can RNS supply a complete testing solution?

RNS no longer operates a software programming division. However, we work in partnership with a number of high-quality software developers to provide our customers with a single-stop solution. We are extremely confident in the ability of our partners, and will be happy to supply references for a number of programming houses with whom we do business.
 

5. What separates RNS from other fixture vendors?

Primarily this would be our commitment to complete customer satisfaction and our unconditional support of our product. In addition, the niche we have carved bridges the gap between those vendors that make a complex fixture for an exorbitant cost and those vendors that make fixtures leaving much to be desired and whose price reflects such quality. We offer a middle way that combines the high-complexity, engineering-intensive projects with the simple, routine projects, both of which are offered at modest, fair prices.

6. What capabilities does RNS have that the other manufacturers don't?

Frankly there is very little difference between fixture houses regarding technical capabilities. At RNS we feel that the execution of our capabilities is what differentiates us from our competitors. Our approach to fixture build and our total commitment to customer satisfaction drive the execution of our technical capabilities. Herein, we feel, is our advantage. Combining our technical expertise with the overarching will to achieve makes RNS what we are -- a company driven to succeed in parallel with our customers.
Regarding our technical capabilities, we do feel that our expertise in certain areas gives us an edge in the industry. Specifically, our experience in Linear Stress Analysis and Strain Gauge Testing is considerable. Our personnel have over ten years of LSA experience. Such valuable experience has not been in theoretical or academic analysis; rather, it has been and continues to be in real-world applications in industrial settings. The same is true for our Strain Gauge Testing personnel.
We have just completed a Six Sigma review by one of our customers and due to the high accuracy of our drilling and our "super guidance" system, we can now offer probing of 20 mil targets. We have the technology and the confidence to offer this on the majority of all applications.
 

7. What if I don't see a particular service offered on your web site?

RNS International is highly flexible. If you don't see a product or service advertised on our web page please call or e-mail us. Chances are we have already done something similar and can adapt our experience to suit your applications. We welcome new challenges and the opportunity to work with new technologies.
 

8. How do your prices compare in the industry?

Our ongoing market research and exhaustive tinkering with our quoting template have led us to the following conclusion: RNS mainly falls directly in the medium price range, basic- ally splitting the middle between the "high-end" and the "commodity fixture" categories.
This, too, gives us an edge, as our quality compares equally to the "high-end" manufacturers but at a considerable cost savings. In addition, our prices might exceed those of the "commodity fixture" houses, but our quality so far exceeds these competitors that we are quite comfortable with the Delta.
 

9. How can I be sure of RNS' quality?

Surety derives in party from familiarity.
What has been reinforced to us through the years is that those customers who use our fixtures become regular customers. We feel that once RNS is given the opportunity to introduce its product, the familiarity, and thus the surety, will follow.
We are pleased knowing that our existing customers often offer unsolicited references to others on RNS' behalf.
 

10. How do we transfer fixtures files and data once we select RNS to build our fixture?

There are several ways:
We can use CD-ROMs, or floppies; we can handle files via e-mail (max. 50 MB); or you can upload your files to our FTP server.
